Technical information
When Glid loads remote HTML5 games, games and VPS servers may receive technical information such as IP address, user agent, request time, and requested game URL. This information is commonly processed by web servers to deliver content, maintain security, and troubleshoot technical issues.
Public and private information
Some information is intended to be visible to other users, including usernames, avatars, leaderboard scores, and certain gameplay or social activity such as likes, saved games, follows, play counts, or share counts where shown in the app.
Private account information, such as your Firebase user ID, account status, Apple-provided email address or private relay email, analytics data, crash reports, and security-related technical records, is not intended to be publicly displayed.
3. Guest accounts
You can use Glid as a guest through Firebase Anonymous Authentication. A guest account allows the app to save data such as gameplay activity, scores, likes, saved games, and other app activity without requiring you to create a registered account.
Guest accounts are still associated with a Firebase user ID. If you delete or reset guest data in the app, certain guest account data may be deleted or anonymized, subject to reasonable processing time and limited retention for legal, security, backup, or abuse-prevention purposes.
4. Sign in with Apple
Registered users can sign in with Apple through Firebase Authentication. When you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide Glid with an email address or a private relay email, depending on your Apple account settings and choices.
Glid does not request or store passwords from users. Authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication and, where selected, Sign in with Apple.
You can learn more about Apple’s privacy practices at Apple Privacy.
5. Gameplay, scores and leaderboards
Glid stores gameplay-related information such as highscores, leaderboard entries, play counts, share counts, game load times, and score submission events.
Scores from HTML5 games are currently client-submitted. This means scores are submitted from the app or game experience and may be reviewed, adjusted, hidden, or removed if they appear inaccurate, manipulated, abusive, or harmful to the integrity of leaderboards.
Leaderboard information may be visible to other users. Public leaderboard information may include a username, avatar, score, ranking, game identifier, and related gameplay metadata shown in the app.
7. Analytics and diagnostics
Glid uses Firebase Analytics to understand app usage and performance, such as gameplay activity, feature usage, game load times, and score submission events. Glid uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash and diagnostic information that helps identify and fix technical problems.
Analytics and diagnostics help improve app stability, performance, game loading, and user experience. Depending on your device settings, platform rules, and applicable law, some analytics or diagnostic processing may be subject to consent or platform controls.
8. Remote games and VPS hosting
Glid loads HTML5 mini-games remotely from a separately operated VPS inside an iOS WKWebView. When a game is requested, the VPS and the game content may process technical information such as IP address, user agent, request time, and requested game URL.
This processing is used to deliver games, measure load performance, troubleshoot issues, maintain server security, and prevent abuse. Remote game content may change over time as games are updated, removed, or improved.
9. Purposes and legal bases under GDPR
Where the General Data Protection Regulation applies, Glid relies on the following legal bases depending on the processing activity:
| Purpose | Examples | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Provide and operate the app | Authentication, guest accounts, registered accounts, saved games, scores, leaderboards | Performance of a contract or steps requested by the user |
| Maintain social and profile features | Usernames, avatars, likes, follows, saved games | Performance of a contract and legitimate interests |
| Improve app and game performance | Usage analytics, game load times, score submission events | Legitimate interests or consent where required |
| Diagnose crashes and technical problems | Crash reports, diagnostic logs, device and app stability data | Legitimate interests |
| Prevent abuse and protect fair play | Review of suspicious scores, technical security records, anti-manipulation checks | Legitimate interests |
| Comply with legal obligations | Responding to lawful requests, retaining limited records where required | Legal obligation |
10. Third-party processors
Glid uses third-party service providers to operate the app and related infrastructure. These providers process information as needed to provide their services.
- Google/Firebase: Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, Apple platform services, and App Store-related services where applicable.
- VPS hosting provider: remote hosting infrastructure used to deliver HTML5 mini-games.

Apple and Google/Firebase provide services used by Glid. This does not mean that Apple or Google endorses Glid.
11. International data transfers
Glid, Firebase, Apple, VPS hosting providers, and other technical service providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence. This means your information may be transferred internationally.
Where required by applicable data protection law, Glid relies on appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, provider transfer mechanisms, or other lawful transfer tools.
12. Data retention
Glid keeps information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the app, maintain accounts, save scores, operate leaderboards, support social features, improve performance, diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data. For example, public leaderboard records may remain while a leaderboard is active, account data may remain while an account exists, analytics and diagnostic records may be retained according to service provider settings, and security records may be kept for a limited period to protect the app and users.
Backups and logs may remain temporarily after deletion requests until they are overwritten or no longer needed. Limited records may also be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or abuse-prevention reasons.
13. Account and data deletion
You can delete or reset account data inside the Glid app.
- Guest users: Profile → Settings → Delete Guest Data
- Registered users: Profile → Settings → Delete Account
Deletion may remove or anonymize account information, profile information, gameplay data, scores, likes, saved games, follows, and related app activity, depending on the account type and technical requirements.
Deletion may require a reasonable processing period. Glid does not promise instant deletion. Some backups, logs, security records, or records required for legal compliance may remain for a limited time.
If you cannot complete deletion in the app, contact tobiaskrenn06@gmail.com. You can also review the dedicated Account Deletion page.
14. Children’s privacy
Glid is intended for users who are at least 13 years old, unless local law requires a higher age. Users who do not meet the applicable minimum age must not use Glid.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to Glid in violation of this policy or applicable law, contact tobiaskrenn06@gmail.com so the issue can be reviewed.
15. Security
Glid uses technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including Firebase services for authentication and data storage. However, no app, server, database, network, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You should use the app responsibly and keep access to your device and Apple account secure.
