Fridgey ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Fridgey iOS application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information from those services.

Onboarding Preferences: We store your dietary preferences, allergies, cooking skill level, time budget, and household size to personalize your experience.

Photos: When you use the fridge scan or cooking journal features, photos are processed by our AI service (OpenAI) to recognize ingredients or document your meals. Photos are sent securely and are not stored on our servers permanently.

Chat Data: Messages you send to the AI chef are processed by OpenAI to generate recipe suggestions. We store recent chat history locally on your device.

Usage Data: We collect anonymous analytics data such as feature usage, session duration, and crash reports to improve the app experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide personalized recipe suggestions based on your preferences and ingredients
• To analyze fridge photos and recognize ingredients using AI
• To manage your account and subscription

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Firebase (Google Cloud infrastructure) with encryption in transit and at rest. Most app data (recipes, preferences, chat history) is also stored locally on your device for offline access. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data will be removed from our servers within 30 days. Locally stored data is deleted immediately when you delete the app.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Delete your account and all associated data
• Opt out of push notifications at any time
• Request a copy of your data by contacting us

7. Children's Privacy

Fridgey is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
